Give-A-Way Time with SlimKicker!

Welcome to the new I hope you enjoy yourself. I have tried to make a site where my recipes, tips, and other randomness can be found easily.

Back to the point. Guess what time it is? Give-A-WAY time. I had the pleasure of coming across a really cool new website recently.

Slimkicker is a calorie counting application that helps you get excited and stay motivated in trying to reach your healthy goals. It’s simple. You receive points by tracking calories, logging workouts, and by completing goals/challenges. You can enter contests with other members, and by checking in you get points. The more points you get the better. As you level up in the point system, you can enter giveaways and win prizes.

To help with this healthy lifestyle and making better choices, Slimkicker will be giving away a slow cooker/ steamer to one of my readers!

It’s the —

Hamilton Beach 33165 Stay or Go Cooker and Steamer

To enter is easy.  Just leave a comment with a suggestion for a fun, creative fitness or diet challenge. Should just be 1-2 sentences.  Slimkicker will pick their favorite, and announce the winner in a week. Good Luck!

  1. My challenge is to get more fruits and vegetables into my diet. I am trying the 1, 2, 3 approach which means 1 fruit or veggie for breakfast, 2 for lunch & 3 at dinner.

  2. My approach is to try to eat only things that were grown or have a mother. Did you know Twinkies don’t have a mother? Exercise and water are are being addressed also….

  3. Fun, creative fitness challenge? How about a 20-minute dance break, 5 days a week? At some point in the day, you have to get up, crank some tunes, and dance your ass off. Giving people the opportunity to post the songs they chose for that day would be a fun way to share workout music ideas, too!

  4. With the time saved from cooking dinner in the Slimkicker, I could exercise more! Maybe the challenge could be something like “Instead of spending an extra 30 minutes in the kitchen today, I….” finish the sentence. I would spend an extra 30 minutes running laps with Ernie at the dog park!

  5. I have the hardest time drinking my oz of water everyday. A great challenge for me would be something to do with water consumption…. or maybe a breakfast prompter. or this… I don’t eat breakfast and thereby self sabotage. Maybe a 30 day Breakfast-a-day keeps to lbs at bay?

  6. I always get my kids involved in my workouts, relay races, etc. That way it benefits not only myself but my whole family. Then we all eat sensible foods. Use your family as inspiration!!!!

  7. I work at a daycare right now and I think a fun motivation idea is to give the children piggy back rides each day outside for 15 mins in the morning and 15 mins in the afternoon.

  8. to take my kids to the park and swing with them, and chase my 4 yrs old little boy around the play structure going down slides and what not

  9. I think a great challenge would be to go 30 days only eating things that were available 100 years ago. That means everything freshly prepared. No genetically modified produce or pre-packaged anything. This will eliminate almost all preservatives and (the sometimes hard to pronounce) chemical additives. I am about to attempt this myself. I can only imagine how great I will feel when my body doesn’t have to work so hard to eliminate all the extra toxins.

  10. Getting in that water… every single day… I have purchased a gallon jug for myself (and one for hubby)… we fill it up everyday and empty it everyday… this way we KNOW that we are getting in our gallon + of water without having to keep track too much! 😉

  11. We get our small town involved. This summer we have the 100 miles in 100 days. We get the kiddos in to. It’s great for motivation and socializing!! Plus I think at the end this year were are going to do a healthy potluck to wrap up our success.

  12. Have a week challenge where everyday for 7 days you have to do a FUN activity for 60 mins. No traditional gym, running or equipment allowed. It has to be a fun activity such as swimming, hiking, dancing, playing a game of soccer or football with your friends or family. The point is that ALL these things are exercise too. Exercise does not have to be something you dread, it can be a fun time with your family or friends!
