GGH Vegetarian Burgers.

I found this recipe from and decided to modify it. Here are the ingredients it calls for–


  • 1 (16 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1/2 onion, cut into wedges
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • egg
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Thai chili sauce or hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs

I used- 1/2 a bell pepper chopped, 3 cloves of garlic, 1/2 onion chopped, 1 egg, 1 tbsp chili powder, 1 tbsp cumin, 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 tbsp sriracha, dash of sea salt and pepper, 1 can of organic black beans, 1 tsp of fresh ginger, 1 large squash grated and excess water drained from it, 1 carrot grated. You can really use any veggies you want!

Preheat oven to 375. Chop all veggies. Mash black beans in a large bowl. Add veggies to black bean mixture. Add egg, seasoning, and hot sauce. Stir. Add oats or breadcrumbs until mixture forms. Make patties. I got 5.

Bake for 1o minutes on one side, flip, and bake for 10 minutes on other side.

I also added a little bit of extra virgin olive oil on top of each patty to make it brown. SO GOOD!
