The Truth!


So here it is folks. Officially I have gained back 73 pounds of the 83 that I have lost. I am mad about it. I want to cry about it. Instead I will change it.

My husband and I have both decided to join Nutrisystem to help get us both back on the right track. We have both had lots of success on the program in the past, and I am desperate to get my body back into healthy mode.

We start Saturday!

This time around I plan on doing a few things.

1. Sticking to the actual food I am sent. I know that there will be times I will have to eat other options, but for the most part I am set on eating EXACTLY what is sent to me. Last time I went off plan a lot. Still lost weight but I didn’t give it 100 percent.

2. Drinking 64 oz of water a day. This will be really easy for me. I usually drink one gallon but that isn’t always practical. 64 or a bit more is all I need.

3. Fitness 5 times a week 30 mins a day. 2 days of strength training, 3 days of cardio. This is attainable for me. I usually burn myself with strict cardio and NO strength training 6 or 7 days a week. Not this time. Like I said simple and effective. 30 minutes.

4. Using the AWESOME community that Nutrisystem offers. I will log my food daily and connect with other members for support.

With these 4 simple things I believe I can find success. With my meals already portioned and basically ready to go, I can put my head down and just do what I am supposed to do.

I am going to look at this like a job. I am going to lose the weight. My long term goal is 100 lbs. Short term goal is 10 lbs.

I will be sharing my journey with you all here. There might not be as many recipes, but I will be sharing food photos, measurements, my weight loss numbers, and inspirational posts for you all to see.

Our food arrives Friday so I will throw up a post so you all can see my meals!

  1. It must be discouraging to gain back all that weight! You lost it all once though, so you can definitely do it again! Good luck!

  2. You might want to start thinking about how you´re going to maintain the weight loss once you have reached your goals. I´m expecting you´re not going to stay on that plan forever and it´s hard to go out to the real world after the goal has been reached.

  3. Good luck! You are an inspiration for not giving up. I know how it feels to yo-yo … I lost weight last year and gained most of it back, but I am back on the wagon now too.

  4. Thank you for this post! What most people don’t realize is that a LOT of people that lose weight gain some if not ALL of it back! I lost 164 pounds and gained by 100 before turning it around again, and trending back down. Most people that are gaining just DISAPPEAR, I love that you are being honest and sticking to it!!     • Thank you so much for writing! It’s nice to know that other people have shared the struggle. It was not the easiest to admit this to the world, but I am human!   5. I am so proud of you for taking action and moving forward you could have easily said the hell with it but you didn’t you took responsibility, you came up with a plan and you are on your way. So proud of you and I will be right here cheering you on!

    You will do it! Just never give up. It’s a tough battle. I think your thought of “look at it like work” is good. That’s what I did. Just add it to the DayPlanner like a conference call. I hate exercise and I love food BUT I know once I’m done working out, I’ll feel so much better about myself. The domino effect of confidence is catching…Yes, it’s tough. Yes, You CAN do it. D

  10. Ahh man you should get yourself sponsered! Good Luck on your travels. I know how much it sucks to re-travel those paths. I was never a success story but I did lose 35 lbs a few years ago and didn’t keep it off.
