Oatmeal Banana Cookies! (2 ingredients).

I totally found this recipe by searching for “recipes to make with old bananas”. Perfect!


Preheat oven to 350.

Mix 2 large ripe bananas + 1 cup of rolled oats together to make a batter.bananaoatmeal1


That is it!  Shape cookies. Whatever size you like. I made 10 medium sized cookies.

OR you can add in other things. I added 2 tbsp’s of walnuts, and 1 tbsp of cinnamon. Mix well and shape. You could add raisins, chocolate chips, almonds, whatever you want.

Bake at 350 on a GREASED sheet for 15 minutes.



What a great little way to kill a sweet tooth. Oatmeal cookies in the morning? Why not?

I heart you pancakes.


Two ingredient pancakes? Yes please. This is a super popular recipe! Decided to give it a try. Here is what I used-

Makes 2-3 servings-

2 eggs, 1 ripe mashed banana, cinnamon. Mash banana in a bowl. Whip eggs in another bowl. Combine. Add cinnamon. Spray pan with non stick spray, or oil of choice. Cook like a normal pancake!

I added organic blueberries and strawberries. For syrup, I simply drizzled a little bit of honey on top. So good! Here is the recipe I adapted from–


A trip to zaza’s pizzeria napoletana.

My husband and I took the Honda Element in for a oil change and belt check this morning. To kill time we decided to check out ZaZa’s in Sugarloaf Key. It’s a pizzeria. We have had dinner there once. It was super good, but also really expensive. Wanted to see what their breakfast menu was all about.

20121212-102205.jpgVariety plate. English muffin. Applewood smoked bacon, 2 over easy eggs, and homestyle potatoes. The english muffin was devine. Eggs were great. The bacon was crisp. Potatoes were good. They added onion, lots of seasonings, and roasted red peppers. I shared! It cost 7 dollars and 2 extra dollars for 2 slices of bacon. 1 dollar a piece of bacon? Well played zaza’s. Well played.

Husband had a bacon, egg, and cheese on ciabatta bread. He liked it. I believe it cost 7.50.

They do offer a locals discount. Florida Keys friends don’t be afraid to ask for that discount! We ended up with a bill of 24.70. Not horrible.

Turns out we have a cracked serpentine belt in the car. Now we are presently sitting at the tiki bar with our macbook’s out. There is a nice wind going. Little bit cloudy, but still enjoyable.

Food Journal November 13, 2012.

  • Breakfast- 1 organic egg/ 3 tbsp egg white topped with broiled tomatoes with mozzarella topped with sweet basil, oregano, cracked pepper, and a bit of parm. Caprese Egg Pizza. YUM!
  • Lunch- Salad with blue crab meat.
  • Snack- Cocoa roasted almonds, 1/2 a pineapple chobani, 1/2 grapefruit.
  • Dinner- Kickn Black Bean Burger topped with mozzarella and tomato + cooked mushrooms/spinach. Served with a side of steamed broccoli, and 1/2  a ear of corn.

Food Journal November 12, 2012.

  • Breakfast- Breakfast Pizza with 1.5 organic scrambled egg, 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese, fresh sweet basil, and slices of tomato on a flat out bread. 1/2 of the sweetest red ruby grapefruit I have ever had.
  • Lunch- Green monster with 2 cups of spinach, 1 frozen banana, a package of flawless whey, and 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
  • Dinner- Grilled shrimp and green pepper/squash/shroom kebobs with avocado sauce.*the avocado sauce I adapted from another recipe. 1 avocado, 1/4 cup chicken stock, chives, 3 tbsp of plain chobani greek yogurt, and 1.5 tbs of key lime. all blended together*
  • Dessert- Grilled pineapple/ 1/2 pineapple chobani for dipping.

Banana Cream Pie Smoothie.

1 small frozen banana

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 cup dried rolled oats

4 oz vanilla greek yogurt chobani

Mix well. Enjoy. So good. Around 355 calories. A little bit high in carbs, but is a great breakfast! It keeps me full for a super long time, and gives me energy to get through a nice cardio workout


BBS Oats (Banana Brown Sugar).

So simple it hurts.

1/2 cup dried roll oats, 1 small banana (or use half of a larger banana), cinnamon, 1 tbsp of milk of choice, 1 tsp of brown sugar.

Cook oats on stove top or microwave. Once oats are thickened, add 1 tbsp of milk or as much as you want to get the right consistency. I like unsweetened vanilla almond milk for this. Add sliced bananas, sprinkle cinnamon, and 1 tsp of brown sugar. So good. I am full from this breakfast for HOURS.

Overcast Wednesday.

Wednesday morning started out with 3 cups of hazelnut coffee with 1 tbsp of coconut milk. Yum. Husband got us a big huge grouper in the canal. I offered to filet him up. I have just this year learned how to gut and filet a fish. I have been practicing on 11-12 inch Key West snappers that we catch in our canal. I finally have started getting good at it. This would be my first attempt at fileting a large fish. I need a better knife, but the filets came out pretty good. Each one weighs 4.5 ounces. Free protein. Yes and Yes. 2 grouper fish filets.

Breakfast was a Banana Split Protein Bowl.
1 scoop of 10 in 1 flawless whey protein, 1/2 small frozen banana, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2-1 cup coconut milk. Yum.

Lunch will be those filets up there! I am going to saute them with some crab meat and serve some plantains on the side. Yum!

Fitness- I have done  a 30 day shred level 3, a 30 minute cycle session, and 30 minutes of swimming. I also did some chin ups.

Weather is overcast here so it was the perfect weather to ride my bike in. I love that biking days are back!

My favorite breakfast choices.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Growing up I never ate breakfast. Maybe that is why I could never concentrate in class! The body needs fuel to get going. You must eat breakfast. No excuses. If you are following a healthy lifestyle or on a diet, you can’t skip breakfast. How can your body begin to work properly, or burn fat when it is at a stand still? Omelet Combo 1.

Omelets usually stress me out! It took me about 20 years to perfect them.I still screw them up all the time. Today it came out beautiful so I thought I would share.

1 organic egg, 1/2 cup of liquid egg whites, 1 tbsp chopped green onions, 1 mini orange sweet organic pepper, 1/8 cup of shredded cheddar, 1 slice of tomato.

I set my pan on medium heat, sprayed some non stick spray and added the egg mixture. Once that was cooking, I added the veggies and cheese. It cooked through pretty quickly.

I served it with a tomato slice on top + extra green onion slices. I think it’s pretty cool I grew the green onions that I used!
